River Bunratty

The river Bunratty enters the Shannon Estuary at Bunratty Castle.

Catch:Salmon, Brown Trout & Sea Trout.

This river is mainly fished for Sea trout in early June, although small stocks of Salmon and Brown trout are caught. The banks are good for fishing and good runs of Grilse are also taken. No fishing is allowed between the Mill Weir at Sixmilebridge and 45 yards above the Road Bridge adjoining Main Street.

Season:

Salmon and Sea trout fishing is during February 1st - September 30th, while Brown trout are caught between February 15th - September 30th.

Methods:

Fly and spinning.

Cost: Fishing is regarded as free in this river , but you should enquire locally before using it.
