This is a spate river and fish you can expect to catch are Brown trout in the lower reaches of the water.Small stocks of quality Trout are found here, and the best time to fish is in the beginning of the season. The Edenderry Anglers\' Association claim fishing rights to the river.

Brown trout fishing is between March 01st-September 30th.
