In the bog at Derrycahill you can catch fish such as Bream, Rudd, Perch and Pike. The river below Ballinasloe contains good quality Bream, but it is at Culliagh where you can catch Bream, Rudd, Perch and some Roach. At this stretch you can find soft margins in places with very clean banks. This area is liable to flooding. |

Small runs of Grilse and Spring salmon are caught from mid June. There is a 7 mile stretch where fishing is for Brown trout between Laragh Bridge to Castlerea and the fish average between 0.5 lbs to 0.75 lbs. |
