The Mulkear river can be found rising north of Tipperary town and flowing in the north west direction to the Shannon at Annacotty Weir.

Salmon fishing here spans over 20 miles of water, including the headwaters of the Mulkear. Fishing is prohibited 50 yards downriver off the Mull Weir at Ballyclough and from 31st May between New Road Bridge at Annacotty 50 yards above Annacotty Weir. This is primarily a Grilse river with some Salmon which are at their peak in April.

Season:

Salmon fishing is between March 1st - September 30th.

Fly and spinning.
