Cloonard river, (Roscommon) is found draining Lough Blinn and joining the River Suck at Castlerea.

Catch:Brown Trout.

Fish contained in the river here are good stocks of Brown trout up to 0.5 lbs with the best of the fishing done early in the season, in March and April, or in September when there is a lot of water. Clonree town has the best fishing.

Season:

Brown trout fishing is between March 01st -September 30th.

Methods:

Fly and spinning.

Cost: Permits can be obtained from the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board Inspector who is Mr Brian Connaughton, Harbour Point in Ballinasloe.
