Catch:Salmon

Angling is prohibited at Clonmel between Oldbridge. This prohibition doesn\'t apply to fishing with a rod and line from part of the north bank known as Old Quay. This river has a series of shallow and deep glides. Good stocks of trout can be found here, with sizes averaging to 1lb, but in the area around Caher and Clonmel they can reach up to 3lbs and sometimes more. The best of the salmon fishing is done downstream form Ardfinnan between Thurles and Holycross where the water is deep and good trout can be caught.

Season:

The Salmon and Sea trout are caught between February 1st - September 30th whereas Brown trout are taken between March 1st - September 30th.

Methods:

Usually fly and spin.

Cost: Permission can be obtained from the riparian owners.
