The river Nore rises in Co. Tipperary and flows east through Borris in Ossory, and then south through Co. Kilkenny.

This is a limestone river with great fly life. With high banks, the Nore makes fishing difficult in places. Salmon are caught from the tide upstream to the river Dinin.

Season:

The Salmon are caught between February 1st - September 30th

Fly and spinning.

Catch:Sea Trout and Brown Trout.

It is tidal from Inistioge River with very rich fly life. Much of the catchment is given over to tillage, pastureland, and bloodstock. Mill weirs are a feature of the river, and these give rise to long, deep stretches and slow-flowing water. The banks are high in places, and there is an excessive amount of tree cover and vegetation in many places, which makes fishing difficult.

Season:

Sea Trout: 1st February to 30th September.
Brown Trout: 1st March to 30th September.

Methods:

All legal methods. No live bait with Pike fishing.
