Catch:Brown Trout.

Fishing between the Ballyartella Weir and the Ballyartella Bridge is prohibited, but in other areas fishing is usually for Brown trout with fish averaging 5 lbs in weight. Access is along the river banks which are high, difficult and overgrown in places. A good run of lake Trout known locally as Croneen can be caught here in mid July, and are taken by using worms in a flood, or with a fly or by spinning late in the evening.

Season:

Brown trout fishing is between March 01st - September 30th.

Methods:

Usually fly and spin.
