Season:

All year around.

Methods:

All legal methods. No live bait with Pike fishing.

Cost: Coarse fishing is free.
Fish: Salmon ()
Description:
Catch:Salmon and Sea Trout

Not a very big river, fast flowing and can be waded almost anywhere. Extremely dependent on rain!! In dry spells it gets very shallow and cannot be fished anymore. Outside of Ballybofey there is very nice scenery and the fishing is more tranquil.

Season:

1st March - 20th September. Best time June and July!!

Methods:

The Finn has got to be one of the best fly fishing rivers in Ireland. When the water is clean there is more salmon and sea trout being caught with the fly than with any other method. Yellow and orange patterns in size 6-14 seem to work best. Spoons are successful and in high and coloured water the worm produces record catches. No floats allowed.

Cost: Day tickets cost, depending to season and beat, between IRL£10 and IRL£25. The best stretch is in Cloghan and tickets can be purchased with Thomas Mc Creery, tel.: +353-74-32075 or David Wilde, tel.: +353-74-33003.
