River Drumcliff

The river Drumcliff is found on the main road to Bundoran, just a few miles outside of Sligo.

Description:
Catch:Salmon, Sea Trout & Brown Trout.

The Drumcliff consists of 4 miles of river and drains Glencar Lake into Drumcliff Bay. Fishing is for catches of Spring salmon and Grilse. Some runs of Sea trout can also be found from July. Fishing on this tidal stretch is free. The Glencar Lake lies north of the Manorhamilton to Sligo road 5 miles from Sligo. Fishing is for good catches of small Brown trout and some Sea trout. Grilse are also available.

Season:

Brown trout are taken between February 15th - October 12th, Salmon fishing is from February 1st - September 30th, and Sea trout are caught between February 1st - October 12th.

Methods:

Usually fly fishing and spinning.
