Location:

The Dee rises on Loughaniea Mountain in Co Caven, and flowing in an easterly direction for 38 miles through the counties of Meath & Louth. It then enters Dundalk Bay at Annagassian where it shares an estuary with the River Glyde.

The River Dee is highly regarded as a Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon Fishery. It is one of few rivers in Ireland where three Sea winter fish, 20-35lb in weight are still recorded.

Season:

The fishing season runs from 1st Feb to 30th Sept.

Methods:

Salmon are mostly taken by worm, devon or Flying C. Maggot, Fly and Shrimp are also used.
