This is a superior river for brown trout, It gets a good run of sea trout the best fishing is from below oldbridge wp to slane for the spring salmon which it gets a good run . the best fishing is done from Navan down stream. Spring Salmon sea season February to Late May or early June. A river well worth fishing.

Best season to fish is May to September but you can fish all year round.
