With good scenery, this lake holds goods stocks of Bream, Rudd, Pike and Perch, especially at Hazelwood, Doonee, Kilmore and Annagh. Within the North Western Regional Fisheries Board there are good waters containing Pike and Perch. In most cases, boats are required. At Castlebar and Ballyhaunis there are fine Bream to be caught

This is a large lake of 6.5 miles long and 2 miles wide. Access can be gained from the pier on the south shore at the mouth of the Garvoge river. Species of fish caught include Brown trout and Spring salmon. The majority of the salmon fishing is done by trawling, with the most productive months being February and March.

Season:

Brown trout are taken between March 1st - September 30th, while Salmon and Sea trout are caught from January 1st - September 30th.

Methods:

Fly fishing, spinning and trawling.
